For four generations, the Cianfoni family has known the unique properties of lime. Cianfoni's great grandfather began producing lime from his quarries during the late 1800's, and handed down his trade to his children and grandchildren until, during post World Word II reconstruction, the Cianfoni family became the largest producers of lime in Italy.
It is his great grandson, Emilio, who created CALCEM® to capture the Italian beauty secret for walls in this high quality paint. Having grown up with lime "in his blood," Emilio, an accomplished conservator of architectural material, combined his professional expertise with his family legacy to formulate CALCEM®.
