Lime Paint - Description

CALCEM® is a high quality lime paint for use on exterior and interior walls as well as for painting murals in secco technique. CALCEM® lime paint has the tendency to etch and adhere to most surfaces and is also a porous material allowing moisture to pass through. It is a water based white 2 component material. Two coats are recommended.

CALCEM® is a lime paint that can be custom colored by the addition of various lime-proof pigments. The lime proof palette includes many pigments, some known since the beginning of time and others more recent but with a long standing reputation as reliable color pigments. UV rays fade some colors more than others. The best option for exterior walls are iron oxide pigments which come in a variety of colors and provide excellent lightfastness. Once the paint is applied, a natural process induced by carbon dioxide in the air will gradually change the appearance, causing it to acquire a more luminescent color. With time, the exterior walls will also develop a soft weathered patina. CALCEM® lime paint is a two-part material, Part 'A' and Part 'B'. CALCEM® can provide the Part A already colored or provide most color pigments ground and ready for use.
